Interactive Fiction Five Night’s At Freddy’s Janitorial version 1
Though still incomplete, my game is the link above. I made an interactive fiction game for my media class. Anyway, the interactive fiction is a fan-fiction game based on the video game series, Five Nights at Freddy’s, but I included the twist of using a gameplay that is portrayed through the perspective of a janitor. As a janitor, you need to travel through the entire map to collect items, survive, and escape. They also have to deal with trials featuring each of the animatronics in their own way. Midway in, I ran out of inspiration for the Chica trial and ended up exploring the internet to find Pyro’s Night at Freddy’s. My main type of gameplay used is one that is based off my experiences with visual novels where your choice determines your fate. With that in mind, my first draft had little to no coding and only passages that show the events and storyline. The reason there is practically no coding is the fact that due to me missing a class, I had no knowledge that creating everything except the coding is the wrong thing to do. That is my best excuse for that error. During the time I missed that single class session, I was busy making the game. For the creation of my game, I wanted a concept that is easy to have, write out, and detail minimally. For that, creating a horror game where survival is the main goal is my main idea. As for the minimal writing and details, the ever-famous Five Nights at Freddy’s is my solution. It is a game that features one protagonist, has a near completed lore, and has the most detailed and completed gameplay demonstration thanks to the YouTuber, Markiplier. But making the same game from the original would get me copyright complaints, so I changed it up by using a different character and role. That change being the switch from a security guard to a janitor. After returning to class, I also learned the error of my ways by learning about coding from my professor. Now, I am working on my coding for quantitative variables featuring a sanity meter and pill consumption.
