Audio Author’s Note

I interviewed Harsha Tamtam for my interview. He is my flatmate for the summer at college. My main topic of conversation for the interview was mostly about his current career path which originated from my interview topic of ‘why did you want to go to Austin College in the first place?’ Originally I didn’t have an interview topic; this question originated from a professor’s example which I took as a suggestion. When making this interview, other than the conversation, I wanted to use Liar’s Story by Ira Glass as my example. But I couldn’t even find the soundtrack used for the podcast, so I gave up on using the soundtrack and made my own music to attempt to match the casual yet trendy (to me) mood. For the sound effects I used a fast tempo drum beat in the beginning and a classic flashback harp at around the three minute mark. I originally wanted more but other sound effects would only allow me to download in either a mp3 format or pay for wav. Those parts were easily resolved from YouTube how-to videos and a quick link to the manual. My greatest issue in this was the fact that Audacity doesn’t save automatically. As a result, everything but the first draft was deleted, causing me to rush through on Wednesday.
